Connections and Dialogues: European Union and the Asia-Pacific

 

In association with the Center for European Studies at the Jawaharlal Nehru University, the Indian Association for European Union Studies, and the India-EU Study Center Program, the European Union Studies Association in Asia Pacific organized an international conference titled "Connections and Dialogues: European Union and the Asia-Pacific: Perceptions, Policies, and Perspectives"during 8-9, January 2010, in the campus of the Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi. It attracted more than thirty scholars from thirteen countries and areas around the world.

The Asia-Pacific Association for EU Studies (EUSA-Asia Pacific), an academic association in the Asia Pacific Region, is devoted to the studies of the European Union and European integration. It aims at promoting and coordinating EU studies in the related fields, and cultivating and developing mutual understandings and friendly cooperation in the region and with the EU and its member states.

Participants at the New Delhi conference discussed EU's economic, political, legal, social, cultural issues and foreign relations.

Jiang Shixue, Professor and Deputy Director of IES participated in the conference with a paper titled "A New Look at the China/EU/Latin America Triangulation".
