The Envoy of the German Embassy in China and His Delegation Visited the Institute of European Studies of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences

The Envoy of the German Embassy in China, Dr. Frank Rückert, also as Chargé d'Affaires, ad interim, and First Secretary Mr. Olivier Portoff visited the Institute of European Studies of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences on the afternoon of September 27, 2021. Feng Zhongping, the Director of the Institute of European Studies, Tian Dewen, the Deputy Director of the Institute of European Studies, and Liu Zuokui, the Deputy Director of the Institute of European Studies, as well as some researchers attended the meeting.  

 

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on hot topics of common concern, such as the German election, the future German government cabinet, China-Germany relations in the post-Merkel era, the current situation of China-EU relations, and the relations between Germany and Central and Eastern European countries. The two sides agreed that, the stable and healthy development of China-Germany relations is in the common interests of two countries, and has not only brought tangible benefits to the two peoples, but also made positive contributions to promoting China-EU cooperation. The two sides expect the two countries to continue to promote practical cooperation in the spirit of mutual benefit and openness in the post-Merkel era.
