On 20 July, 2022, a special donation ceremony of a large number of books for the needs of the University of Ljubljana was organized via an online link. The event marked the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Slovenia and the People's Republic of China. The Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the Institute of European Studies on its behalf approved a donation of over 100 books written in English to the EARL, a member of the network of infrastructural research centres of the University of Ljubljana.

The event was attended by Prof. Dr. Feng Zhongping, Director General of the Institute for European Studies, which operates within the framework of CASS, H.E. Alenka Suhadolnik, MSc, Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to the People's Republic of China, a representative of the Editor-in-Chief of the China Social Sciences Press, Wei Changbao, and members of the Board of the EARL: Prof. Dr. Zlatko ?abi?, Head, Mirjam Kotar, MSc, main coordinator, Dr. Marko Ho?evar and Dr. Jan Vrhovski, Co-chairs of the EARL research unit, Prof. Dr. Andrej Beke?, Assist. Prof. Dr. Sa?a Isteni? Kotar and Assist. Prof. Dr. Kang Byoung Yoong. The event was coordinated by Prof. Dr. Liu Zuokui, Deputy Director General of the Institute of European Studies.

The ceremony took place in a relaxed atmosphere. All participants agreed that the donation is of great importance to both scientific communities. They look forward to further success in promoting a strong and vibrant scientific cooperation between the two institutions.
