The Chinese translation of the consolidated version of the Treaty on European Union and the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union as amended by the Treaty of Lisbon has been published by the Social Sciences Academic Press (China). As a “simplified” version of the European Constitutional Treaty, the Treaty of Lisbon, by amending the former EC Treaty and EU Treaty, provides a great impetus to the future development of the European Union itself and for the EU to play a more significant role in the world. The publication of the Chinese version of the two Treaties will definitely be helpful to the readers who are interested in the EU and to those engaged in China’s European studies. The two translators of the book, Dr. Cheng Weidong and Dr. Li Jingkun, come from the Division of EU Law of IES of CASS and have been engaged in EU law studies for a long time.
