Chinese Academy of Social Sciences-European University Cyprus Centre of China Studies
The Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) - European University Cyprus (EUC) Centre of China Studies (CECCS) is one of the overseas China research centres affiliated with CASS. On September 25, 2023, Gao Xiang, president of CASS, attended the establishment ceremony of CECCS and signed an agreement to jointly build the CECCS with the Rector of the European University Cyprus (EUC), Professor Andreas Efstathiou, and the ex-Rector of the European University Cyprus, Professor Kostas Gouliamos. Guided by the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, CECCS focuses on the study of mutual learning between Chinese and European civilizations, especially the civilizational exchanges with southern European countries, and strives to become an important base for China-European civilization partnership and people-to-people exchanges. Since its establishment, CECCS has organized many high-quality international academic seminars, actively mobilized resources from China and Cyprus, and organized Chinese and Cypriot scholars to write articles in the international media to explain China's road and spread China Thought. CECCS will continue to focus on academic cooperation, constantly expand and deepen the academic ties between the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Cypriot universities and think tanks, and continuously promote the substantive and in-depth academic exchanges between China and Cyprus.
