Czech FM Official Visits IES

On February 17, 2011, Hana Mottlova, Director of the Asia and Pacific Department at the Foreign Ministry of the Czech Republic visited IES, and had a talk with IES Director Zhou Hong.

The visiting Czech FM official was accompanied by Ambassador Libor Secka, Minister Councellor Ivana Grollova, and Third Secretary Veronika Musilova.

Asked what role the EU is going to play on the world stage, Mottlova said that the EU wished to make some contributions to the on-going process of establishing a multi-polar world. She congratulated Zhou Hong on the addition of a new research division on Central and Eastern Europe at IES. Professor Kong Tianping, chief of the new division, was also present at the meeting with the Czech guests.

Mottlova suggests to Zhou Hong that IES strengthen academic research on the Visegrad Group, which has just celebrated its twenty years’ anniversary of its establishment.

Jiang Shixue, Deputy Director of the IES, Cheng Weidong, Assistant Director of the IES, and Chen Xin, Chief of the Economics Division, were also present at the meeting.
