Xue Yanping (B.A. in 1983, M.A. in 1988) is a senior research fellow with Institute of European Studies under Chinese Academy of Social Sciences as well as a full professor of the Academy’s graduate school. He majored in international economics and works in the fields of European economy and European science and technology policy. He has worked with several institutions at home and abroad, such as Institute of International Trade under MOFTEC (Beijing, from 1983 to 1985), Institute of European Studies, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (Beijing, from 1989 to 2010), the Institute of Advanced Studies of Indiana University (Bloomington, USA, from 1992 to 1993), Institute of European Studies of Macao (Macao, 1997 and 1999), University of Macao (Macao, from 1997 to 1999), China’s “Xinhua News Agency” United Nation Bureau (New York, from 2002 to 2005) and Freiburg University (Germany, 2007).

Xue Yanping has published over 60 academic articles and chapters in books and is the author or translator of several books. Recent publications include An Analysisi of Industrial Innovation System and Policy in Europe (book, China Social Sciences Press, 2009); The Future of European Capitalism (book, Vivien A. Schmidt, co-translator with Zhang Min, Social Sciences Academic Press, 2010); The Features and Development of Capital Market in European Union (paper, Social Sciences Abroad, No. 2, 2009); An Study of European Industrial Innovation Policy(paper, Social Sciences Abroad, No.4, 2008); International Financial Crisis and the Reform of European Financial Supervisory System (research report, December, 2009).
