“The United States of Europe” in Chinese

The translators of the book are Guan Chenyuan and Hu Zhuzheng.  In the preface to the Chinese edition, Guan Chenyuan says, China has always been paying great attention to the development in Europe and supports the EU in its efforts to play a more important role on the world stage; therefore, China is happy to see that integration in Europe has been proceeding forward steadily. “Whether the continent will be a ‘united states’ or a federation would be determined by Europe itself,” says Guan, the former Chinese ambassador to EU.

Since 1999 Guy Verhofstadt has been a member of the European Council and is now one of Europe's most experienced leaders.
